Layout on Canvas with Watercolors

Hello Everyone,

I am obsessed with mixed media canvas these days. And here it comes, another one with water colors.

I wanted to combine two three challenges, and it it my last minute submission. Themes are so fun.... I didn't want to miss.
It all started with Prima Paintables. These are wonderful ready to paint art cards. I colored the flowers with watercolors. One more paintable I adhered to the canvas.

I used mint, blue and light yellow ochre watercolors to bring color on my canvas. Next layer was modeling paste with Prima bubble stencil. I colored some of the bubbles with yellow ochre. I created one more layer with paper doily and weathered clock die cut. Also added some texture stamping with black archival ink. Background is inspired by Limor Webber's this journal page.

You light the way.....

Hello Everyone,

I have a special guest at my blog today. She is playing along with other kids at Simon says stamp Summer vacation kids challenge. She is none other than my dearest daughter 'Diti' who is 12yrs old.....over to her

Hi Everyone! It's fabulous to be amongst you all crafty people today. I'm an art freak just like my mom so I decided to be a part of the Summer vacation kids challenge 2014 at Simon stays stamp. I simply adore Kristina Werner, Jennifer Mcguire, Darlene Devries, their videos and their cards amongst so many others.
For this challenge I decided to make a card for my sweet teacher as on 5th September we'll be celebrating Teacher's Day In India. Here's the card...

This time I attacked all my mom's cool art stuff at the latest opportunity.  I started off using 3 patterned papers as a base and also attached two strips of purple ribbons horizontally.

I love stamps which have cute girl's images and I thought of using one right here.  I stamped it with black Memento ink and colored it with my favorite Faber Castle and Fun color pencils. Then I added a beautifully patterned die-cut doily behind it. I punched three baby pink butterflies and added them to the doily.

I stuck those mini little flowers near the corners and added that super cool butterfly near the girl.

I mostly am fascinated by blings so I sticked some of them at the corners and some on the butterfly. And then last but not the least I wrote a quote for the finishing touch.

I hope you loved the card as much as I loved making it. Waiting eagerly for your suggestions and comments.
See you all soon...!

Owl Mixed media canvas with B & W, Red

Hello Everyone,

I've colored owl chipboard piece with black gelato and then heat embossed it with black embossing powder. Flowers are colored with gelatos, I made a sparay out of it, added bit shimmer.

For making the background, I adhered text paper. Stamped with various texture stamps. Made the drips with gelato and water in a Drip dropper. Also done some splattering.

Stay Above it - Art Journal Page

 Hello Everyone, Bonjour!
France Papillon has celebrated her 100th Journal on Monday. She is a great artist and inspiration for me and many of you. She is adorable, loves to teach and share. You can find her videos here.
She has asked to share our Journal page process and link to her blog as a part of celebration. Today is the last day. I couldn't do earlier and didn't want to miss too.

This is my first sketch of a girl. I admire who make good sketches. I draw her on text paper. Colored her hair with acrylic paints- raw umber and yellow and black. For her skin I used flesh tint in acrylic and some colors from Gelatos and PIIT pens.

To make the background, I gessoed the page first. Applied Mustered seed and squeezed lemonade distress paints, randomly, spritzed water and moved color around.

With Lindy's blue spray and crafters workshop flower stencil, made the patterns.

For more texture, I applied embossing paste through CW specimen stencil. You can see white butterflies and circles.

I added green circles with stencil again.

And here is the final look...

Cameo Tag

Hello Everyone,

I've used distress stains here.  Just like distress inks, stains are versatile. I followed Tim's video tutorial where he shows basic techniques. I applied worn lipstick, spun sugar and victorial velvet distress stain on to my non stick craft sheet, similar to DI wrinkle free technique, took my tag and put it into the stain, which created my background. Next technique..is stamping with DS. I applied Picked raspberry on Paper Artsy rubberstamp - flourish and stamped on the edges.

Cameo image is from Kaisercraft 75cent collection. I applied ripe persimmon DI at the edges. Small flowers are colored with Picked raspberry and ripe persimmon DS and water.

Black and White Card

Hello Everyone,

Another card today for Stampotique Designers challenge, where my dear friend Kay Wallace has asked to play with Black and white and one color.
And here is my take..

I made this uncomplicated card with Stampotique Originals Stamp called 'I love my new dress'. Girl image, itself says so many things.

I love collecting text background papers. I used Studio Calico Lemon lush paper here. It has gorgeous design papers with wonderful colors, though I chose text which goes with the theme. To get the depth, I applied black soot distress ink at the edges. And I adhered it to the base which is a white card stock.  I stamped the image on another white paper, fussy cut it and stick on the card with foam tabs. My pop color is 'Red' here, finally, I attached die cut red butterfly. Fun.. fun..

Card for Father

Hello Everyone,
I made a card for my father, whose birthday falls in this month. He is all into machines and mechanisms. With this in my thoughts....I came out with a very grungy, distressed Card

I started off with  white card stock.

I applied three of my favourite distress ink colors - broken china, vintage photo and black soot. I stamped the edges with Kaisercraft texture stamps and Ranger black Archival inks.  Second layer is, piece of green jute paper also distressed to match the background. I attached stamped clock, one you can see that behind..

For this panel, I took ruled paper from Crate paper pad, stamped text and texture, added distressed washi tape. Gears are die cuts, and Key is a metal charm, colored with distress stains and inks.
And here is the final look...
