Mixed Media with Lindy's Stamp Gang

Hello Everyone,

Lindy's stamp gang April challenge has color palate to use for. To start with this Mixed media project, I applied gesso and attached some gauze with gesso again (saw this technique in Limore's video) to create the texture. Spritzed lindy's Starburst spray- Blue Hawaiian Blue, Crow's Nest Copper and  Edelwelss Moss Green magicals to color the background. The center bird and flourish chipboard piece is colored with Alpine ice rose and Edelwelss Moss Green magicals. Flowers are also colored a bit with magicals, it has shimmer(camera doesn't capture it). I put them all together with hot glue and also added some pearls.

Lindy's color palate..

Little hanging project

Hello Everyone,

Lin Brown has shared wonderful wall hanging project at Paper Artsy. And this is my take on it...

The panel is 4*6" chipboard. I stuck few of my washi tapes on the board.

I colored the panel with yellow, green and burnt umber, crimson lake acrylic paints. With stencil and white acrylic paint I brought on some leaves images. Stamped flowers and stems with black archival ink and rubber stamp. Colored the flowers. On another paper, I made the bird and attached to the main panel.

Becoz, the these acrylic paints are translucent, we can see the washi tape design in the background. It was a fun..

Altered Bottle

Hello Everyone,

Today, I've altered the bottle into art piece.

I had emptied  glass Ketchup bottle in the kitchen, which I wanted to alter. to start with I adhered the Tim's tissue wrap with Mod Podge, and applied Gesso. When it dried I used broken China, peeled paint, vintage photo, walnut stain distress stains to color the surface.

I colored the Prima vintage paintable with Worn lipstick, peeled paint and broken china distress stains. And I attached this piece to the bottle. I added flowers, chipboard flourishes and butterfly. At the bottom of bottle I've attached brown paper rope.

Now the fun part..I've taken three photos of this bottle with different backgrounds... check it out..

Paris - Art Journal Page

Hello Everyone,

I have used Crackle glaze here. This journal page is inspired by Pam Thorburn at Paper Artsy. She has given the tutorial how to create this background. She made a mini photo album cover and I created journal page. I enjoyed the background so much, I kept a lot of empty space, which is unusual for me. :)
Thanks so much for your visit.

Gift Box

Hello Everyone,

Recently, I've got We are memory keepers envelope punch board. And this is my first attempt to make gift box with it, ...very easy!! Love this product.
At Kraft Zone, theme of the month is 'anything with Washi and Stamp'. To start this box I scored the lines and kept it aside. to make the middle panel, I stamped these girl's images(Crafty Individual's love letter ladies stamp) on all four sides. Then I made a border with black Washi tape, which has floral design on it. After this I adhered the panel to the box and added flowers and flourishes. Finally I attached all sides and tied the ribbon.

Birthday Card

Hello Everyone,

I've made a Birthday card today with lot of color inks.

And inspiration is the picture shown below .. I wanted to pick all colors :) for my card. I stamped text with black archival ink on watercolor paper. Distressed all edges with distressing tool. Applied thin layer of gesso on text, as I wanted to make it visible. Then I brought my spray ink colors on craft table. I applied all randomly but in between heat set them, so they don't mix with each other. I stamped the birthday sentiment on banner and adhered it with foam tabs to give dimension. Lastly I added same color flowers, leaves and pearls.

Garden Lantern Inspired by Alison Bomber

Hello Everyone,
Happy Sunday!! At Paper Artsy Alison has showed the beautiful tutorial for making this beautiful Garden Lantern with mason jar. And here is my take...

I used turquoise blue, teal, aqua green and yellow to color the jar. Then I stamped the flowers with black archival ink. Jute thread brings the grungy look. I cut out a flower from aqua green jute paper. and attached to it. It didn't take much time to make this today morning. And I learned new techniques...it was a fun creation. Thank you Alison for this wonderful inspiration.

Art Journal Page inspired by Darcy

Hello Everyone,

At PaperArtsy blog Darcy has given brilliant tutorial to make March Journal page. I learned new techniques and few of them I've used to create this page.

Ideas I explored
  • using ripped book paper as texture
  • Grunge paste, tinting and stamping into
  • Masking off areas with scrap card
  • Using mainly translucent paints
  • Mixing translucent paints to create new shades
  • Using a white pen to highlight
  • Create a paint swatch/pallette to choose shades from
  • Create a window/frame to a view beyond

Mixed Media Art

Hello Everyone,

I stared this mixed media with water color paper, as I wanted to work with distress stains. I used wrinkle free technique using squeezed lemonade, mowed lawn, evergreen bough, peeled paint, mustered seed, festive berries distress stains. Then I did some stenciling with crafters workshop harlequin stencil and festive berries distress ink. Also added some texture stamping. I stamped butterflies separately and colored with distress stains. Prima Sugar dots  were perfect embellishments for this piece.  Lastly I prepared the chipboard size of 8*10" with pattern paper, and applied blue and green distress inks at the edges and attached the center piece on that. I couldn't decide whether I want to frame it or hang on wall as it is....decided to take photo as it is.Limor Webber has made ATCs recently, I was inspired with her work. You can find her blog post here.
